
2012 MLS Futbolito Registration Now Open

Washington, D.C. (June 6, 2012) - D.C. United announced today that the club will host the 2012 edition of MLS Futbolito, the official four-on-four tournament of Major League Soccer. Presented locally by Volkswagen, the event will take place on Saturday, August 4 at the Maryland Soccerplex in Boyds, Md.
In 2012 MLS Futbolito is bringing soccer action to eight communities across the country. Open to players of all ages, there are three divisions open for registration - Premier Adult, the most competitive division in which teams compete for cash prizes; Adult Recreational, with male and female divisions; and Youth, with boys and girls divisions for each age group. Each team may have a maximum of seven players on the roster.
Besides great competition, the day-long event offers food, music and fun activities for the whole family. The Adult Premier Division-winning team will receive $2,000 and the runner-up will receive $1,000. Also, each player will receive a ticket for D.C. United's home match against the Columbus Crew on August 4 (7:30 p.m. kickoff).
Registration fees will be $150 for the Premier Adult division and $125 for Adult Recreational and Youth divisions. Participants and spectators will have the chance to win prizes from D.C. United and official MLS Futbolito partners. In addition, a D.C. United first team player will be onsite, as well as United's mascot Talon.
The National Partners for MLS Futbolito are adidas, Allstate, The Home Depot, Makita, Pepsi, Quaker, Volkswagen, and Xbox.
