Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - Sit...Speak...Donate...Cedar Bend Humane Society is the featured charity during the final month of the Waterloo Black Hawks' regular season schedule and will be highlighted by the Hawks and 1650 AM "The Fan" as part of the $16.50 Campaign, presented by Slumberland Furniture.
Each year, Cedar Bend Humane Society provides shelter to hundreds of homeless pets, while preparing many to be adopted by caring families. The organization accepts animals regardless of their age, breed, behavior, or health. For more than 50 years, CBHS has offered a range of services that directly benefit both the animals and people in our community like lost-and-found care, low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics, pet burial and cremation, nursing facility pet therapy, and educational programs.
"This season, our fans have shown us that they love their pets just as much as they love their team, so I know they will help us to a strong finish for the $16.50 Campaign for 2022/23," said Black Hawks President and COO Joe Greene. "Cedar Bend Humane Society has been one of the causes to benefit every year the $16.50 Campaign has been in operation, because they change lives for both pets and people."
The Waterloo Black Hawks, Slumberland Furniture, and 1650 The Fan ask you to consider a donation of $16.50 for Cedar Bend Humane Society during the month of April. The goal is for 100 Black Hawks fans and KCNZ listeners to contribute that amount this month. When those small contributions are pooled together, they can make a big difference. To make your donation to Cedar Bend Humane Society, visit waterlooblackhawks.com and click on "$16.50 Campaign" in the "Fan Zone" menu.
You can also assist the organization this spring by participating in the 14th Annual Furry 5K at Big Woods Lake in Cedar Falls on Saturday, May 20th.
