Green Bay Rockers News Release
Madison, WI - The Bullfrogs fell to the Madison Mallards at home 12-1 on Friday at Joannes Stadium. The Green Bay pitching staff walked 13 batters in the game while allowing a season-high 13 hits. The Mallards took the lead for good in the fifth inning without the benefit of a base hit. Cameron Dullnig and Drew Bradshaw combined to walk six in the inning as Madison took a 4-1 lead. The Mallards would score at least two runs in each of the next three innings. With five games left in the first half Green Bay falls to a tie in third place with the Eau Claire Express. They are a game back of Battle Creek and two games back of Madison.
The Mallards took the lead in the third inning against the 'Frogs' starter Cameron Dullnig on an RBI single from Mike McQuillan. He scored Matt Juengel who led the inning off with a double. That double was the first extra base hit by the Mallards against the Bullfrogs during the five-game season series. Green Bay wins the season series three games to two.
The 'Frogs' tied the game in the fourth inning with an unearned run. Mitch Haniger walked with one out. He stole second base. He then stole third base and scored on the throw to third that went into left field. It was the only run Green Bay would score as they tallied a season-low two runs.
The Bullfrogs open a two-game home series against the Waterloo Bucks on Saturday at 7:05 pm at Joannes Stadium. The Bullfrogs will give a full size Frogger Arcade game to a lucky fun courtsey of Gallagher's Pizza.
