RANGERS ASSIGN MAGNUS HELLBERG TO HARTFORD

NEW YORK - New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has assigned goaltender Magnus Hellberg to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL). Hellberg was recalled by the Rangers on an emergency basis on Mar. 11. He has appeared in one game with the Rangers this season, stopping all four shots he faced in the third period on Jan. 17 vs. Dallas. The 6-6, 209-pounder has appeared in 31 games with the Wolf Pack in 2016-17, posting an 11-11-5 record, along with a 2.91 GAA and a .902 SV%. He has allowed two goals or fewer in six of his last nine AHL starts, dating back to Dec. 26. Hellberg stopped 26 of 27 shots he faced and earned a win in his last start with the Wolf Pack on Feb. 26 vs. Binghamton.
