Dirty Birds' James Nelson Named Player of the Year
October 10, 2025 - Charleston, WV - Dirty Birds' slugger James Nelson was named the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball Player of the Year. October 8, 2025 - Charleston, WV - Dirty Birds' starting shortstop Joseph Rosa and third baseman James Nelson were named to the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball 2025 Postseason All-Star Team. Atlantic League coaches, managers, and executives vote on this award recognition of the best players at each position in the league this year.

October 2, 2025 - Charleston, WV - The managers of the top two teams in the American League playoff bracket have connections to professional baseball in Charleston, both as former catchers for teams that played at Watt Powell Park.
