August 31, 2026 - PHOENIX - The Phoenix Mercury announced today that guard Kelsey Plum will not return to play during the remainder of the 2026 WNBA season. Plum, who also will not compete with Team USA for the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, will continue to work with team performance and medical staff to strengthen and recover from a lower leg injury. Phoenix Mercury Sign Saylor Poffenbarger to Seven-Day Contract

August 25, 2026 - PHOENIX - The Phoenix Mercury have signed guard Saylor Poffenbarger to a seven-day contract, the team announced today. Poffenbarger, a 6'-2" shooting guard, has appeared in five games this season with the Chicago Sky after spending training camp with the Minnesota Lynx. She played five collegiate seasons, which featured stints at UConn (2020-21), Arkansas (2022-24) and Maryland (2024-26), averaging 8.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 140 career games (115 starts). August 24, 2026 - PHOENIX - The Phoenix Mercury announced today that the team has reached a buyout agreement with forward DeWanna Bonner. Phoenix Mercury Sign Forward Maddy Westbeld

August 18, 2026 - PHOENIX - The Phoenix Mercury have signed forward Maddy Westbeld to a rest-of-season contract, the team announced today. Westbeld was selected with the 16th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky, averaging 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 26 games while shooting 39.5% from three her rookie season. In the Sky's 2025 season finale, she recorded a career-high 25 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and knocked down five of her six three-pointers.
