At the time of his promotion, his 64 strikeouts led all minor leaguers, with Richard Hill of West Tennessee in the Southern League second with 59. Braden's six wins put him into a seven-way tie for tops in the minors in the category.

Braden led the California League in strikeouts with 64. Edison Volquez, a Port last year was second with 48. Braden also led the League in with his six wins; no one else had more than four. He was second in innings pitched and fifth in ERA with a 2.68. He won his last six starts in a row, and the Ports were 7-0 when Braden started. He struck out double digit hitters in each of his last four starts, fanning 11 in his last three. His strikeout to walk ratio was a robust 5.82.

Braden was a fan favorite at Banner Island Ballpark, with close to 100 friends and family attending every game that Braden started in. Dallas Braden had this to say on playing at Banner Island Ballpark, "I Love it. The whole team talks about the energy level and how it just raises after a couple innings. The energy level is second to none and if the fans keep coming out they are going to get quality performances from our team, as we feed off the energy."

The promotion to AA Midland is another step and fast climb to the Oakland A's for the 21-year-old left-handed starting pitcher.
