Richmond Flying Squirrels News Release
Funnville - Due to a bevy of rainouts, suspended games and inclement weather, the Flying Squirrels are channeling previously postponed fireworks displays into a one-night, let-it-ride, can't-miss-show following Sunday' doubleheader against the Harrisburg Senators. The result of the heavy rains this week has now made Sunday the largest fireworks show in The Diamond's history. Tickets for the event, which is now a doubleheader, can be purchased here. One ticket is good for both games, with first pitch scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
"While the rain has been frustrating all weekend, the silver lining is we will finish the season with literally a blast...the biggest fireworks show ever," said Flying Squirrels VP & COO Todd "Parney". "This will be a twenty-minute extravaganza that will certainly help us all end the season on a high note."
The Flying Squirrels have two more dates remaining in the 2018 season (Sunday and Monday). The season will conclude on Fan Appreciation Night, including a Bruno Mars Tribute with $2,500 worth of prizes handed out on Monday at 1:05 p.m.
Fans with tickets for Saturday's suspended game can be redeem them at the Box Office for the final two days of the 2018 season or for an April contest in 2019. Tickets and information can be found at www.squirrelsbaseball.com or by calling 804-359-FUNN.
