
Iowa Starts Fast, Defeats Oklahoma City on the Road

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Iowa Energy (11-28) used a 25-10 opening run to defeat the Oklahoma City Blue (28-13) 105-95 Friday night in Oklahoma City. The Energy have now won their last three road games, dating back to Feb. 14.
Wayne Selden Jr. came off the bench to lead the Energy with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, including 3-5 from the three-point line. Troy Williams finished right behind the Kansas product, posting 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting as a reserve. Williams was 2-4 from deep.
After sprinting ahead to a 29-17 lead after the first quarter, the Energy continued to build their lead into the third, where they led by as many as 19 points. The Blue chipped away in the final frame, getting to within eight points of Iowa in the fourth quarter, but were unable to close the gap any further.
Seven players posted double figures for Iowa on the evening, including four of the five starters.
Wade Baldwin chipped in 12 points and a team-high seven assists. Jarell Martin earned his third double-double of the season, collecting 14 points and 10 rebounds.
After sitting out the previous two games, Cartier Martin returned to the starting lineup and provided the team with 12 points, four rebounds and five assists. JaKarr Sampson had a team-high three steals to go along with 15 points and six boards.
In the final meeting of the season between the division rivals, Iowa held the 22-13 advantage in assists over Oklahoma City and shot 47.2 percent from the field as a team.
Dez Wells scored a team-high 17 points for the Blue on the evening. As a team, Oklahoma City shot just 13.8 percent (4-29) from the three-point line, their lowest total of the season.
The Iowa Energy return to Wells Fargo Arena this Sunday to host the Maine Red Claws at 3:00 p.m.
