March 3, 2017 - NBA G League (G League)
Westchester Knicks News Release

FORT WAYNE, IN - The Westchester Knicks (16-22), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, began its five-game road trip with a loss to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (22-15), the Indiana Pacers' affiliate, falling 106-94 despite a spirited fourth quarter comeback effort.

Keith Wright paced the Knicks with 16 points, grabbing 13 rebounds for a double-double. Damien Inglis and Courtney Fells each put up 14 points, Inglis with eight rebounds and Fells with seven. Making his debut return to Westchester after spending the 2015-16 season with the team, Travis Trice II finished with 14 points, four assists, and two steals.

Fort Wayne's Jared Uthoff led all scorers in the game with 23 points, grabbing a staggering 20 rebounds for an ultra- impressive double-double. Stephan Hicks provided 18 points with eight rebounds; Trey McKinney-Jones adding 14 points and eight rebounds. Jordan Loyd came close to a triple-double, finishing with 17 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds.

The Mad Ants came out of the gate hot, beginning the game on a 16-6 run. After falling behind by as much as an 11-point deficit, Westchester picked up the pace and used a 10-2 run of its own to cut Fort Wayne's lead to three. Managing to tie the game with just over one minute left in the first, the Knicks salvaged the quarter to end it trailing by just three points.

However, the second quarter belonged to the home team as Fort Wayne outscored Westchester by 10 while outrebounding its opponent 20-6. At one point climbing to an 18-point advantage, the Mad Ants finished the half with a 13- point lead.

The Knicks buttoned it down defensively in the third but continued to shoot poorly, mustering just 27.3 percent from the field and going 0-for-6 from downtown. After trailing by 19 points coming out of the third quarter, Westchester outscored Fort Wayne 21-9 in the first six minutes of the fourth to come back within single digits. That would be as close as they could come though, as the Mad Ants scored the next seven points in a row, ultimately sealing the win.

The Westchester Knicks continues its road trip facing the Canton Charge, the Cleveland Cavaliers' affiliate, next on Sunday, March 5 for a 2:00 p.m. match-up. The game will be broadcast on MSG Networks and streamed live on Facebook Live.
