
Birds Drop Fourth Straight in a 7-2 Loss to Winston-Salem

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans fell 7-2 on Sunday to the Winston-Salem Dash in front of 5,201 fans from TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.
Tyler Alamo broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning with an RBI single for the Pelicans (46-53, 12-17), scoring Jhonny Pereda to give the Birds a 1-0 lead over the Dash (61-39, 20-10).
Pitching with a 1-0 lead in the fifth, Myrtle Beach starter Bryan Hudson (6-8), who had only allowed one runner to reach third in the first four innings, yielded the lead to the Dash. With two aboard and one out, Yeyson Yrizarri reached on an error to load the bases. After an RBI ground out from Luis Gonzalez that knotted the game, Ti'Quan Forbes broke the tie with a two-run single.
In the sixth, Winston-Salem tacked on with an RBI single from Gavin Sheets and a sacrifice fly from Yermin Mercedes to make it 5-1 Dash.
Laz Rivera ripped a two-run single in the eighth to pad the Dash lead to 7-1.
In the ninth, Roberto Caro , who went 2-for-4 and is now hitting .452 (19-42) over his last 12 games, bashed an RBI single to conclude the score at 7-2.
Drew Hasler (3-2) took home the win by throwing three innings of relief, only allowing a run on four hits.
The Pelicans try to salvage the series with Monday's 7:05 p.m. first pitch. RHP Alex Lange (6-6, 3.31 ERA) starts for Myrtle Beach against Winston-Salem LHP John Parke (2-1, 3.60 ERA). Coverage starts at 6:50 p.m. on MiLB.tv, MyrtleBeachPelicans.com/Broadcast, the MiLB First Pitch app and TuneIn.
