
Austin Spurs Fall to Reno Bighorns, 108-89

CEDAR PARK, Texas - Cady Lalanne recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while teammate Orlando Johnson had his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds, but the Reno Bighorns came out on top 108-89 at Cedar Park Center on Saturday night.
San Antonio Spurs assignee Ray McCallum scored a team-high 17 points for Austin, while Vincent Hunter led Reno in scoring with 29 points and 14 rebounds. Erick Green also added 26 points for Reno.
After Austin scored the first five points of the game, Reno stopped their early offensive rhythm with a 9-0 run. The momentum switched often during the first quarter, with Reno leading by as many as eight and Austin leading by as many as five. Green led Reno in scoring with eight points. McCallum posted seven points for Austin, while Atlanta Hawks assignee Tim Hardaway Jr. was a spark off the bench with six points. Austin trailed by two at the end of the first, 28-30.
Reno came out strong in the second with a 14-0 run, holding off Austin from scoring until the seven-minute mark, when Keifer Sykes' jump shot brought the score to 30-44. They held on to their lead for the entire second quarter, led by Hunter's seven points. Youssou Ndoye contributed seven points for Austin in the quarter, but the team trailed Reno 46-52 at the half.
Austin fought hard in the third, tying the game at 58 with seven minutes left in the quarter. They went on to gain the lead 60-58 for the first time since the first quarter, but a three-pointer by Cliff Hammonds quickly put Reno back ahead 61-60. Austin struggled to hold off Reno as they went on an 8-0 run to end the third up 83-67. They were unable to come back or regain their lead in the fourth quarter.
