FORT WAYNE, IN (December 13, 2014)- It was an offensive explosion Saturday night as the Fort Wayne Mad Ants redeemedlast night's buzzer beating dagger, as they defeated the Grand Rapids Drive101-87 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
Itwas all Mad Ants through the first half, showing consistent dominance,declaring leads as large as 11 and presenting only one lead change through the24 minute duration. New Orleans Pelican assignee, Russ Smith, lead the Mad Antswith 14 points at the half with teammate Andre Emmett recording 13. For theDrive, Lorenzo Brown posted 13 points to lead Grand Rapids at the half.
FortWayne remained strong against the Drive through the second half extending theirlead to 25 and holding a lead the entirety of the second half. Leading thesecond half for the Mad Ants was the duo of Smith, who increased his points toa 19 total with 6 assists, and Emmett, who went on to lead the team with 22points and 6 rebounds on the night.
Forthe Drive, Brown finished the night recording 22 points and 6 assists, whileteammate Kelsey Barlow contributed nine rebounds to lead the team.
TheMad Ants will be back in action Friday, December 16th as they travelto Sioux Falls for an 8:00 pm tip-off with the Sky Force.
