RENO, NV- The Reno Bighorns fell to the Idaho Stampede 144-134 despite three Bighorns scoring twenty-plus points.
Guard Brady Heslip led the Bighorns with 28 points while shooting 7-of-12 at the three-point line. Ra'Shad James notched 24 points with three rebounds. David Stockton tallied 14 assists, 3 steals, and eight turnovers. David Wear 21 points, eight rebounds.
Idaho's Joel Write led the team with 41 points. Kevin Murphy netted 21 points. Jerrelle Benimon scored a double-double 20 points and 17 rebounds
The Bighorns pushed ahead early, with a score of 46-32 at the end of the first quarter. With 8:42 remaining in the first half, Bighorns led Idaho by 20 points with a score of 56-36. At the half, Bighorns were on top with a score of 72-71.
Bighorns shot 49% at the three-point line compared to Idaho's 35%. Bighorns also committed more steals (18-14) than Idaho.
The teams will face each other again tomorrow Saturday, November 28 at 2:00 p.m. in Idaho.
Reno will return home on Friday, December 12 to play the Idaho. The two teams will meet six times this seaon.
