October 29, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Indy Fuel News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, signed forward Travis Ouellette to a standard ECHL player contract, the team announced Wednesday. A 5'9", 165 lb. right-handed shooter from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Ouellette split time last season with the Arizona Sundogs and St. Charles Chill in the Central Hockey League (CHL) and the Greenville Road Warriors in the ECHL.
"We're happy to add Travis to the mix in our forward group," said Fuel Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations Scott Hillman on Wednesday. "He'll add depth and experience to our team and he's certainly got the ability to score goals."
In 25 CHL appearances last season, Ouellette, 25, scored nine goals and collected 24 combined points before potting two goals and three points in nine ECHL appearances for Greenville. Prior to his professional career, Ouellette tallied 37 goals and 82 career points in 147 games played for Ferris State University over four seasons from 2009 to 2013 and helped the Bulldogs to their only NCAA Frozen Four appearance in program history in 2012.
Next up for the Fuel, it's a Friday home clash vs. the Evansville IceMen with the opening faceoff set for 7:35 pm at the Fairgrounds Coliseum on "Halloween Trunk or Treat Night." All youth ticket holders in attendance will receive an Indy Fuel Halloween goodie bag and are invited to participate in the Safe Night Trunk or Treat Event on the Indiana State Fairgrounds from 5-7 pm. Full television coverage of Friday's game begins at 7:30 pm on HTSN with Jim Mirabello on the call and radio coverage starts at 7:20 pm on CBS Sports 1430 AM with Fuel broadcaster Tony Brown providing the play-by-play.
In 2014-15, the Indy Fuel, the proud "AA" affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and AHL's Rockford IceHogs, drop the puck on their first season in the ECHL. Season ticket packages for the Fuel's inaugural campaign are available now starting at just under $12 per game!
