LOVES PARK, Ill. - Rockford spotted Lake Erie seven unanswered runs in through the first five innings on Sunday afternoon, which proved to be an insurmountable lead in an 8-4 loss to the Crushers.

Chase Larsson's 2-run home run over the right-center field wall plated the Aviators' (6-20) first two runs of the night in the home half of the seventh inning. Rockford added a run in the eighth and ninth innings, but Lake Erie's offense out-slugged the Aviators in the loss.

Lake Erie scored a total of 27 runs on 42 hits in the series, but Rockford's pitching was strong enough in the first two games to clinch its first series win of the season.

The Aviators will have a travel day on Monday before opening a 3-game series in O'Fallon, MO against the River City Rascals on Tuesday night. Staff ace Drew Rucinski (1-4, 3.37) will toe the rubber for Rockford.
