Today's Game
This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the finale of a four-game series from McCoy Stadium (1:05 p.m.). With a win today, the Herd can earn a split of their four-game set with the PawSox and its eight-game roadtrip. Buffalo opens up an eight-game homestand tomorrow against Gwinnett at Coca-Cola Field.

The Bisons are now 4-3 against the PawSox this season. All three games of the current series have been decided by one run. During the Bisons series win in Buffalo, April 23-26, only one of the four games were decided by less than four runs.
Today's Starter
RHP TODD REDMOND makes his third start as a Bison today. The veteran struck out seven in only four innings in a loss to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last Tuesday. Redmond's victory with the Herd came in a 2.1-inning relief outing on May 25. In between those two games, Redmond was with the Blue Jays and was 0-1 with a 5.79ERA.
Nearly History
Last night, the Bisons fell four outs away from just their second no-hitter in the modern era. RHP THAD WEBER allowed just a walk in seven no-hit frames before Pawtucket's Alex Hassan homered off RHP BUDDY CARLYLE with two outs in the eighth. It's the longest a Bisons have had a no-hitter since RHP KYLE DENNEY tossed 8.1 no-hit frames on August 14, 2004 against Ottawa. The Bisons lone modern era no-hitter was courtesy of RHP BARTOLO COLON on June 20, 1997 against the New Orleans Zephyrs (4-0 win).
Mauro Hits it Far-O
INF MAURO GOMEZ leads the International League with 17 home runs this season. The slugger has hit 10 homers and 20 RBI in 18 games since May 26. Fourteen of Gomez's 17 home runs have come on the road this season as he has a 1.065 OPS away from Coca-Cola Field.
Bisons Bits
INF JIM NEGRYCH and INF LUIS JIMENEZ are tied for the team-lead with .341 batting averages...INF MIKE McCOY and INF EUGENIO VELEZ have each stolen 14 bases in 17 attempts (82% success rate). The rest of the Bisons team has 25 steals in 44 attempts for a 57% success rate...RHP JOHN STILSON has allowed just one run in eight outings and 11.2 innings with the Bisons.
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (31-36) won their fourth straight game with a 6-1 victory in Texas yesterday. Former Bisons RHP R.A. DICKEY allowed just one run in 5.2 innings of work to improve to 6-8 on the season. OF COLBY RASMUS homered for the second straight day. Toronto takes on the Rangers at 3:05 p.m.
