Clinton LumberKings News Release

Appleton, WI - Suddenly the bats are on fire for the LumberKings as they wrapped out 15 hits in a 10-5 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Saturday night at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. On their three-game winning streak, Clinton has scored 30 runs on 42 hits. The LumberKings jumped on the T-'Rats early with four runs in the top of the first as they took advantage of three Wisconsin errors. In the second, Jabari Henry's second double of the game gave Clinton a 5-0 lead. It stayed that way until Wisconsin third baseman Mike Garza hit a two-run homer off LumberKings' starter Scott DeCecco. The two runs were all DeCecco would surrender on his way to his fifth win of the year, a team high. A two-out rally in the seventh gave Clinton two more runs. A single by Ketel Marte and a walk by Dario Pizzano set the table for the run-producers. Taylor Ard and Guillermo Pimentel followed with consecutive run-scoring singles to up the lead to 7-2. In the eighth, back-to-back doubles by Janelfry Zorrilla and Jordy Lara made it 8-2. Marte's sacrifice fly upped the lead to 9-2. Wisconsin scored three in the bottom of the eighth to trim the lead to 9-5 but Clinton answered again with a single tally in the ninth. Blake Holovach and Grady Wood combined for four innings of relief work to close out the win. Three-hit games came from Henry and Lara and two-hit games came from Marte, Ard and Zorrilla. The series continues on Sunday at Time Warner Cable Field. Right-hander Charles Kaalekahi makes his LumberKings debut against Wisconsin right-hander Eric Semmelhack (1-2, 3.48). First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 PM CT.
