Biscuits Swept in Double-Header

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (30-30) were swept by the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (22-37) in a double-header by losing game one 2-1 and game two 6-5 Thursday night at Riverwalk Stadium. With the sweep, the Wahoos took the series.

In game one, the Biscuits took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning with an RBI-single from Mikie Mahtook, but the Wahoos came right back with a two-run single in the sixth to take the lead 2-1.

Enny Romero (4-2) was tagged with the loss despite throwing well. Romero gave up his first earned runs in over 30 innings in the loss.

Game two went back and forth from the first inning.

The Biscuits final push came while trailing 5-4 in the sixth inning. Kyeong Kang hit a towering home run to tie the game at five, but Theo Bowe ripped a solo shot of his own in the sixth inning to push the Wahoos back out in front, 6-5.

After the Wahoos scored two runs in the first inning, Montgomery came back with three in the first. Pensacola tied the game at three with one run in the second then the Biscuits got a go-ahead RBI-single from Keith Castillo in the third to make it 4-3 Montgomery. Pensacola took their second lead of the game with two runs in the fifth to make it 5-4.

The Biscuits will open up a five-game series with the Huntsville Stars on Friday night at 7:05. RHP Jake Floethe will start for the Biscuits while RHP Drew Gagnon will be on the hill for the Stars.
