Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
HAMILTON - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats made six additions to their defence today, signing import defensive backs Delvin Breaux, D'Anton Lynn, Mike Holmes and Terrence Parks as well as import defensive end Eze Obiora and import linebacker Nick Rosamonda.
Breaux joins the Ticats after suiting up with the Arena Football League's New Orleans Voodoo earlier this year.
Lynn attended training camp with the New York Jets in 2012 after making 162 defensive tackles, four interceptions and a forced fumble recovery in four seasons at Penn State.
After finishing his NCAA career at Syracuse with the fifth-most defensive tackles (274) in school history, Holmes spent time with the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. He also returned 55 kickoffs for 1,293 yards and a touchdown and 30 punts for 311 yards during his time with the Orangemen.
Parks played 42 games in four years at Florida State, recording a total of 99 defensive tackles, 10 pass breakups and an interception for a touchdown. He attended training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012.
Obiora recorded 66 defensive tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, 11 quarterback sacks, and three forced fumbles in two seasons at Southern Illinois after transferring from the College of DuPage. A native of Manchester, England, Obiora excelled as a rugby player before moving to the United States and taking up football.
Rosamonda registered 211 tackles and a school-record 10 interceptions in four seasons at North Greenville University. He made a team-leading 82 tackles in his senior season.
The Tiger-Cats also announced that import running back Martell Mallett and import defensive end Brandon Peguese have been released.
Mallett spent last season on the injured list after signing as a free agent on January 30, 2012.
Peguese played in five games with the Ticats last season after arriving via trade with the BC Lions on September 10.
