Blackhawks Assign Bollig to Rockford

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned forward Brandon Bollig to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Bollig, 26, has appeared in 11 games with the Blackhawks this season, recording 40 penalty minutes. The St. Charles, Mo., native has earned 98 penalty minutes in 29 career regular-season games with the Blackhawks and scored one goal in four Stanley Cup playoff games during the 2011-12 postseason.

In 35 regular season games with the IceHogs this season, Bollig has tied a career high with nine points and netted a career-most five goals. The St. Charles, Mo., native ranks second on the club and 12th in the AHL with 157 penalty minutes.

Last season, Bollig skated in 18 regular-season games with the Blackhawks and ranked third on the club and sixth among league rookies with 58 penalty minutes.

Next Home Game: Friday, March 15 vs. Chicago Wolves. The puck hits the ice at 7:05 p.m. as the IceHogs and Wolves go at it at the BMO Harris Bank Center in an Illinois Lottery Cup matchup. It's Country Night at the BMO sponsored by Frito Lay and Q98.5, where fans will be treated to live music from Back Country Roads. There will also be a mechanical bull on site for fans to ride and a contest for best-dressed cowboy/cowgirl.
