Red-Hot Saskatoon Nips Hitmen in Shootout

Calgary, AB - Nathan Burns scored the shootout winner lifting the Saskatoon Blades to a 3-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen Wednesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, extending the visitor's undefeated run to 17 games.

After a scoreless first period, Blades' forward Brett Stovin netted his first of two goals in the middle frame. Spencer Humphries and Brady Brassart added single tallies for the Hitmen who have recorded at least a point in their last nine home games.

Chris Driedger made 22 saves for Calgary, plus four in the shootout, as the Hitmen outshot the Blades 43-25.

Calgary next sees action on Friday, March 1 when the Swift Current Broncos visit the Scotiabank Saddledome, with a 7 p.m. puck drop. On Friday, the Hitmen in partnership with GlobalFest, Trico Homes and Canada Safeway Ltd. are celebrating the Year of the Snake. During the Lunar Celebration, fans will be entertained by lion and dragon dancing and post-game fireworks. In addition, over 300 prizes can be won including a $1,000 flight voucher from Vision 2000 and $1,000 Safeway gift card.
