
Stingrays Weekly: Nerd-Con and Hollywood Come to the Coliseum this Weekend

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
The South Carolina Stingrays traveled to The Arena at Gwinnett Center for a pair of contests against the Gwinnett Gladiators this week for a week record of 1-1-0-0.
The two teams squared off Friday evening with the Stingrays earning their fifth shutout of the season with a 2-0 victory. Goaltender Ryan Zapolski stopped all 29 Gladiators shots for his ECHL-leading fourth shutout and defenseman Luka Vidmar and forward Hunter Bishop provided the scoring.
The Gladiators bounced back the following night, blanking the Stingrays 3-0. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for South Carolina.

Taking the Lead
The Stingrays are fourth in the South Division with 50 points and 10 overall in the Eastern Conference.
Forward Tyler McNeely, currently with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL), is tied for 15 in the ECHL with 44 points (13 goals, 31 assists) in 41 games.
Goaltender Ryan Zapolski is first in the ECHL with a 1.93 goals-against average, a .930 save percentage and four shutouts. His 16 wins are tied for fourth among league netminders.
Defenseman Tommy Cross, currently with the Providence Bruins (AHL), is third among ECHL defensemen with a shooting percentage of 14.6 (six goals on 41 shots).
