Orlando Gets Reid from Alaska

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that they have acquired G James Reid from the Alaska Aces in exchange for F Spencer Bennett.

Reid (6'0", 190 lbs.) has appeared in two games for the Alaska Aces this season, 1-1-0-0 record with a 4.00 GAA and .822 save percentage. He ended last season James Reid with Alaska as well, going 6-2-0-1 with a 2.09 GAA and .910 save percentage. Reid also appeared in five games for the Lake Erie Monsters in the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2011-12, his first professional season, and played three games for the Allen Americans in the Central Hockey League (CHL) as well.

Before turning pro, Reid played three seasons with the Spokane Chiefs in the Western Hockey League (WHL) from 2008-11. In his final season with Spoake in 2010-11, Reid posted a 2.52 GAA, .904 save percentage, and a 35-9-3 record while being named a WHL First Team All-Star. The Calgary, Alberta, native played 18 games in his first WHL season, registering a 1.68 GAA, a .940 save percentage, and four shutouts to go along with a 12-5-1 record.

Bennett played three games for the Solar Bears, collecting one assist.
