South Carolina Stingrays News Release
The South Carolina Stingrays visited the Gwinnett Gladiators and battled the Wheeling Nailers for a week record of 2-1-0-0.
Coming out of the Christmas break, the Stingrays traveled to The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, GA for a pair of contests against the Gladiators Thursday and Friday. The Stingrays erased a two-goal deficit, but fell in the opening contest 5-3. Forwards Hunter Bishop (one goal, two assists) and Tyler McNeely (two goals, one assist) each recorded three-point games. The following night, goaltender Ryan Zapolski stopped all 26 Gladiators shots and Bishop (one goal, one assist) and McNeely (two assists) added two-point games in a 4-0 triumph. The win snapped a six-game winless streak.
The Stingrays carried their strong play back to the North Charleston Coliseum Saturday evening, blanking the Nailers 3-0. Forwards Justin Courtnall, Ryan Hayes and Matthew Pistilli provided the scoring and Zapolski blocked 23 shots.

Taking the Lead
The Stingrays are fourth in the South Division with 34 points and eighth overall in the Eastern Conference.
Forward Tyler McNeely is tied for 16th in the ECHL with 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists). He is currently on a seven-game assists streak with nine assists and a seven-game road point streak with four goals and 11 assists.
Forward Ryan Hayes is on a three-game goal scoring streak with three goals.
Forward Hunter Bishop is riding a four-game road goal scoring streak with four goals.
Goaltender Ryan Zapolski is first in the ECHL with a 1.65 goals-against average, a .939 save percentage and tied for first with three shutouts.
Defenseman Tommy Cross, currently with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League, is tied for 16th among ECHL rookies and league defensemen with 17 points (six goals, 11 assists).
Defenseman Art Bidlevskii is fourth among ECHL rookies with seven major penalties.
