December 30, 2012 - NBA G League (G League)
Iowa Wolves News Release

DES MOINES, IA - For the second consecutive night, the Iowa Energy found themselves down by double digits in the first half against the Los Angeles D-Fenders. And, for the second consecutive night, the Energy pulled out a dramatic come from behind victory against the team that knocked Iowa out of the 2012 NBA D-League Playoffs.

After falling behind 58-48 at halftime, the Energy rallied past L.A. behind 26 points from guard Morris Almond and 21 points from point guard Chris Wright.

The Saturday night game rivaled the drama of Friday night's game as Los Angeles held a 100-97 lead with 1:30 left in the game. Almond responded by sinking a running layup to cut the lead to one.

After a miss by Lakers assignee Darius Johnson-Odom, Energy standout Paul Harris was fouled and calmly hit two free throws to put Iowa up 101-100 with 49.2 seconds remaining. After a timeout, Paul Millsap drove the lane and was fouled, earning two free throws of his own. Millsap knocked both down, giving L.A. the lead at 102-101 with 39.5 seconds left in the game.

After an Energy timeout, the home team went to Harris who delivered with a mid-range jump shot to put Iowa up 103-102 with 18.2 seconds remaining. L.A. called a timeout of their own, and put the ball in Johnson-Odom's hands. The 6'2" guard drove the lane but was forced into a tough shot that was off the mark. Chris Wright grabbed the rebound for Iowa and nailed two free throws with 5.2 seconds left to put the Energy up 10-102.

On their final possession, the D-Fenders got the ball to Jamario Moon, who missed a contested three from the top of the key giving the Energy their third straight win.

In addition to the big nights from Almond and Wright, Harris finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds while Nuggets assignee Quincy Miller added 19 points and 9 boards. The win pushes Iowa to 5-7 on the year.

Johnson-Odom led Los Angeles with 22 points while Millsap contributed 21 in the loss. The D-Fenders fall to 5-6 on the season.

Iowa heads on the road for their next five games before returning home on Sunday, January 13th vs. Canton. The first 1,000 fans will receive an Energy winter hat courtesy of MidAmerican Energy. For tickets, call 515-564-8550, visit www.IowaNBA.com or stop by the arena box office.
