Stampede Pound Glass in Win

BOISE, Idaho - Justin Harper had 21 points and new addition Solomon Alabi added 10 points and 10 rebounds (in just 12:50 of court time) off the bench as the Idaho Stampede beat the Reno Bighorns 101-82. Justin Holiday had 16 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and two steals, while Durrell Summers added 16 points and four rebounds in the team's second win of the year (2-12).

Idaho out-rebounded Reno 57-44, as every starter collected at least four boards, while the bench added another 28 rebounds from Alabi, Harper, Seth Tarver (11 points, 5 rebounds), Jason Ellis (2 points, five rebounds) and Paul Carter (three points, two blocks, three rebounds). The Stampede defense was just as strong, holding the Bighorns to 29.7 percent from the floor, including just 2-of-16 from the three-point line.

After playing to a tie in the first half, Idaho made 13-of-22 shots to take the lead they would not relinquish. Reno went just 3-for-19 in the quarter and finished the second half with just 31 total points. The Bighorns were led by Jerome Jordan, who had 15 points and 10 rebounds, whil e Antoine Wright added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Tony Wroten, on assignment from the Memphis Grizzlies, had 14 points and three steals, while Kevin Murphy, on assignment from Utah, had eight points and five rebounds.

Idaho plays next at Austin on Thursday, January 3 at noon (MST). The next home game for Idaho is again versus Reno on Jan. 11 and 12.
