Wheat Kings Edge Rebels 5-4 In Overtime

First period
The Rebels came out with a good effort to start the affair. And the Rebels were rewarded - MATT BELLERIVE opened the scoring with a little more than seven minutes in. Ten minutes later RHYSE DIENO scored to make it 2-0.
Second period
The Wheaties scored three goals in just over 13 minutes to take their first lead of the game: 3-2. Richard Nejezchelb, Jayce Hawryluk, and Jason Swyripa tallied for Brandon who seem to have the Rebels on the ropes. The Wheat Kings almost made it 4-2 when they were awarded a penalty shot to Alessio Bertaggia. But Rebel goaltender PATRIK BARTOSAK closed the door. And, maybe that gave the Rebels a shot in the arm, because in the final minute of play, MATT DUMBA scored the fourth goal of the period to make it a 3-3 game.
Third period
The Rebels almost got the go-ahead goal a couple of minutes into the final frame when MARC MCCOY rattled a rocket off the post. Then, five minutes in, Brandon grabbed a 4-3 lead when Alessio Bertaggia let a howitzer go. But then WYATT JOHNSON scored - get this - short-handed to make it a 4-4 game, Johnson's second short-handed marker of the season.
OVERTIME
DUMBA came within a skate blade when he hit the goal post. Then, on the Wheat Kings' next rush, Ryley Miller potted the winner, ending the nine-game winning streak.
