Reliever Crawford Joins Hot Rods, McEachern to D.L.

August 11, 2012 - Midwest League (MWL) Bowling Green Hot Rods

Comstock Park, MI - In conjunction with the Tampa Bay Rays, the Bowling Green Hot Rods announce that LHP Shay Crawford has been received from the Short Season-A Hudson Valley Renegades. In a corresponding move, RHP Jason McEachern has been placed on the Disabled List. The moves leave the Hot Rods 25-man roster at its full capacity.

Crawford was selected by the Rays in the 41st round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of Lee University in East Tennessee. In 14 relief appearances with the Hudson Valley Renegades this season, the Bartlett, TN, native is 1-0 with a 2.76 ERA and three saves.

The Hot Rods begin a six-game, seven-day road trip on Saturday night at 6:00 PM CDT at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, MI. Getting the start for the Hot Rods in the first of a three-game set against the West Michigan Whitecaps (Future Tigers) is RHP Jake Floethe (10-3, 3.14). The Whitecaps are scheduled to counter with RHP Marcelo Carreno (6-8, 3.67).

Tune in to the game on the flagship station for the Hot Rods Radio Network, WBGN-AM 1340 "The Ticket," and online at 1340wbgn.com. The Forever Communications Pregame Show with Hank Fuerst begins at 5:40 PM CDT.
