Sea Dogs to Host Naturalization Ceremony on Wednesday

Portland, Maine - U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Portland Sea Dogs will celebrate the citizenship of 40 children during a special ceremony at Hadlock Field, home of the Portland Sea Dogs, on Wednesday, July 18th.USCIS Field Office Director, Sally Blauvelt will administer a special Oath of Allegiance and present the children with certificates of citizenship recognizing and celebrating their citizenship, which is generally derived through their naturalized parents or adoption.
The 40 children range in age from 7 to 19 years old and are originally from the following four countries: Congo (4), Germany (2), Philippines (1), and Somalia (33). They currently live throughout Maine.
Maine 's Attorney General, William J. Schneider, will deliver the keynote address to America's newest young citizens, their guests, and Sea Dogs fans. Portland Sea Dogs player, Jayson Hernandez will lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.
