Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

Fort Wayne, IN - The Bowling Green Hot Rods (8-7, 46-39) used a Cameron Seitzer solo home run to grind out a 4-3 win over the Fort Wayne TinCaps (10-5, 41-44) on Friday night at Parkview Field. Jason McEachern hurled 2.2 innings of hitless relief and Austin Hubbard held on for the save to preserve Jake Floehte's eighth win of the season. The win avoids the sweep and breaks the Hot Rods five-game road losing streak.

The two teams scored in seven of nine half innings from the second through the fifth. The Hot Rods led 1-0 on Juniel Querecuto's RBI safety squeeze in the second. Bowling Green scored in the next two frames on Todd Glaesmann's steal of home and an RBI double from Jake Hager. Seitzer's second home run of the season was a solo shot and made the score 4-2 and occurred with two outs in the top of the fifth. Bowling Green only managed one hit the rest of the game, but the four runs stood as enough in the victory.

Jason McEachern took over for Jake Floethe with the Hot Rods leading 4-2 with one out in the bottom of the sixth and runners at first and third. McEachern did allow one run to score on a Tyler Stubblefield RBI fielder's choice groundout, but that was it. The righty and Hickory, NC, native did not allow a hit in his 2.2 innings.

Austin Hubbard came on for the save in the bottom of the ninth inning with Hot Rods holding the slight 4-3 lead. The Bowling Green closer was able to strike out Yeison Asencio with the tying run at third base to win the game for the Hot Rods and lock down his 1th save.

The Hot Rods return home on Saturday night to oppose the Lake County Captains for a three-game series. Bowling Green will give the pearl to LHP Ryan Carpenter (7-4, 3.74), while the Indians' Class A Affiliates will give the start to RHP Mason Radeke (5-2, 3.20).
