
Revolution Blank the Patriots 6-0 to Even Series

York, PA - The York Revolution (34-31) shutout the Somerset Patriots (31-34) 6-0 Tuesday night from Sovereign Bank Stadium in front of 4,805 fans.
In the bottom of the second inning catcher Salvador Paniagua hit a two run home run (5) over the big green monster out in left field to put the Revolution in front 2-0.
In the bottom of the third inning first baseman Chris Nowak hit a two run homer (11) over the tall left field wall to expand the Revolution lead to 4-0.
In the bottom of the fourth inning the Revolution added two more runs. Second baseman Liu Rodriguez hit a RBI single and third baseman Ramon Castro had a RBI sacrifice fly as the York took a 6-0 lead.
Roy Merritt suffered his second loss of the season as he tossed only four innings and allowed six runs. In Merritt's previous five starts he allowed just six runs total. Matt Chico earned his first win in four starts as a member of the Revolution. He threw seven scoreless innings allowing just four base hits.
The 2012 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Friday, July 13th when the Patriots return to TD Bank Ballpark to take on the Camden Riversharks at 7:05 p.m. The game features a Post-Game Fireworks Show presented by Carrier Clinic.
