
Serafini Solid in Bluefish Victory

(Bridgeport, Conn. - July 3, 2012) - Solid pitching led the Bridgeport Bluefish (28-37) to defeat the Sugar Land Skeeters (27-38) by a score of 3-1 at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Tuesday.
Bridgeport scored one run in three consecutive innings from the fourth to the sixth. One of those runs was from Brock Peterson who collected his fourth homer in his last seven games. The solo drive to left in the fourth tied the game at one at the time. The first baseman reached base three times. Eddie Rogers and Edgardo Baez picked up two base hits on the night while Rogers stole two bases. Luis Figueroa and Prentice Redman drove in the other runs for the home team. Elliott Ayala extended his hitting streak to seven in a row with a single in the fifth.
The Skeeters pushed across the only run of the night on an RBI double by Jason Lane as the Bluefish held the road squad to seven hits on Tuesday.
Bridgeport starter, Dan Serafini (2-0), earned the win as the southpaw tossed seven innings of one run, four hit, two walk and two strikeout baseball. Juan Rincon and Jorge Julio combined for two scoreless frames on three hits with Julio picking up his seventh save of the season.
Sugar Land hurler, Heath Phillips (1-5), suffered the loss as the starter completed five innings and allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while fanning three. Eric Krebs and Derrick Gordon finished the rest of the contest. The tandem completed three innings and surrendered one run on two hits and a walk while striking out two
