Southern Maryland Blue Crabs News Release

WALDORF, Md. - The Blue Crabs regret to inform that the Easy Company Veterans originally scheduled to appear at Friday's WWII Tribute will not be able to appear at Regency Furniture Stadium. Due to escalating health concerns, the Veterans will not be able to make the trip from their homes in the Atlantic region. "This is sad news for us. These men are true super heroes and we strongly feel that younger generations should know their stories, just like all the men and women who served in WWII. And unfortunately these great Americans are coming to the end of their own stories, which makes it more important for us to pay our respects," said Assistant General Manager Brian Radle.

The event will still carry on as planned with a tribute to all those who served in WWII, as well as our active and retired Military Veterans. The event will start with a memorable pre-game ceremony involving Harley's Heroes from All American Harley Davidson, Veterans from the Wounded Warrior Project, Disabled Veterans of America, as well as 30 future US Soldiers taking the Oath of Enlistment on the field. Another big element is Blue Crabs Players and Coaches wearing custom WWII inspired jerseys presented by Zenetex. The jerseys will be auctioned off during the game and winning bidders will get to come down to the field, take pictures with their player and receive autographs. During the game, fans will be able to see a variety of military vehicles, and memorabilia throughout the Stadium.

To honor area Military for this event, the Blue Crabs have teamed up with Zenetex to offer 1,000 complimentary tickets. The offer is designed to provide military and their families a way to share this night together. The offer started with the Fleet & Family Readiness Division of the local Naval Air Station in Patuxent River, and since has grown to all area bases by allowing all active/retired military and DoD's to receive up to for tickets each for the game. "We've seen a great response from the Patuxent River Naval Base, and thought it would be great to open it up even more," said Radle. Base members and Military Veterans looking to attend the event must come to the Box Office at Regency Furniture Stadium and show Base/ Military Identification and are encouraged to do so prior to the event. The gates will open to the general public at 6pm with the pre-game ceremony starting at 6:30 pm and first pitch at 7:05 pm.

Individual game seats are still available for this game, and are available at www.somdbluecrabs.com, or by calling 301-638-9788.
