Aeros Add C Michel Hernandez

AKRON, OH - The Cleveland Indians announced Saturday evening that veteran catcher Michel Herandez has been transferred to the Akron Aeros from the Columbus Clippers.Hernandez arrived in Reading, Pennsylvania, where the Aeros were playing the Phillies, shortly before game time Saturday, but did not see action in a 7-4 Aeros win.
Hernandez, 33, was on the Aeros opening day roster, and appeared in one game, going 2-4, with a run scored. He was promoted to the Tribe's Triple-A team in Columbus (OH) on April 13th. While with the Clippers, he played in two games, collecting one hit- a double- in six at-bats.
A veteran of 15 professional baseball seasons, Hernandez has appeared in 45 major league games with the New York Yankees (5) and Tampa Bay Rays (40). He owns a lifetime average of .237 with one home run and 12 RBI's in the majors.
The Aeros roster now stands at 24 players.
The Aeros will wrap up their three-game series with Reading on Sunday afternoon at 1:35. Following Sunday's game, the Aeros will play three in Bowie, Maryland against the Baysox.
