SERIES AT A GLANCE: The Flying Squirrels will attempt to win their second consecutive game when they take on the Altoona Curve in game three of a four-game series at Peoples Natural Gas Field tonight. Last night, Richmond's offense erupted for nine runs in the final two innings, including a season-high six runs in the top of the eighth, to erase a 7-6 deficit and post a 15-7 win over the Curve. Gary Brown tripled and drove in a season-high four runs for Richmond and Juan Perez went 5-for-5, which matched a career-high in hits. He added four runs scored, which also matched his career-high. The Flying Squirrels equaled a franchise-record for hits in a game with 22. The Flying Squirrels went 9-8 against Altoona in 2011 including a 5-6 mark in Altoona.

Richmond is 23-26 all-time against the Curve and the club is 9-14 all-time at Peoples Natural Gas Field. The two teams will meet 21 times in 2012, 14 times in Altoona and 7 times in Richmond. Richmond won three of the first four games between the two teams last weekend at The Diamond. Following this four-game series, the Flying Squirrels will not return to Richmond until May 4th-6th.

TODAY'S PITCHERS: RHP Craig Westcott vs. LHP Aaron Poreda Westcott: Makes his fourth start of the season for the Flying Squirrels tonight. In his last start, Westcott turned in his best outing of the season as he yielded six hits and three earned runs and struck out a season-high five batters in six innings pitched against Reading Monday. He took a no-decision in Richmond's 5-3 setback. Westcott is making his third career start against the Curve tonight. He went 0-1 with a 7.56 ERA in two starts against Altoona in his first stint with Richmond back in 2010. After splitting the 2010 season between Advanced-A San Jose and Richmond, Westcott spent the entire 2011 campaign back in San Jose. Westcott enjoyed a banner year in the California League as he posted a 13-4 record with a 3.42 ERA in 25 appearances, including 24 starts.

His 13 wins tied for the most in the Cal League and he finished fourth in the circuit in ERA (3.42). As a result, Westcott was named both a Mid-Season and Postseason All- Star. He was also a Mid-Season All-Star in the Cal League in 2010 after going 6-0 with a miniscule 1.83 ERA in 13 starts with San Jose before being promoted to Richmond. Westcott did not enjoy the same level of success with the Flying Squirrels however, as he compiled a 3-3 mark with a 5.13 ERA in the second half of the season. He owns a record of 29-9 with a 3.48 ERA in 68 career minor league appearances, including 60 starts. The Chalmette, LA native was selected by the Giants in the 30th round of the 2009 June Draft out of Belhaven (MS) College.

Poreda: Makes his third start of the season tonight. In his last start, Poreda allowed five hits and two earned runs along with a walk and six strikeouts in six innings pitched at Harrisburg Monday. He earned the win in Altoona's 5-2 triumph. The southpaw spent the entire 2011 campaign pitching for Triple-A Tucson in the San Diego farm system, where he compiled a 4-3 record with a 5.43 ERA in 41 appearances, including one start. Poreda split the 2010 campaign between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A Portland, where he posted a combined 1-2 mark with a 3.83 ERA in 49 appearances, including one start. Originally a member of the Chicago White Sox organization, Poreda reached the Major Leagues in 2009, pitching for the White Sox and the Padres.

In 14 Major League appearances, Poreda went 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA, Poreda owns a 22-21 record with a 3.58 ERA in 139 career minor league appearances, including 56 starts. Poreda was originally selected by Chicago in the first round (25th overall pick) of the 2007 June Draft out of the University of San Francisco. He was taken by the Pirates in the Triple-A phase of the Minor League Rule Five Draft on 12/8/11.

ME GUSTA MAYORA: After going 3-for-6 with a double, an RBI and four runs scored last night, Daniel Mayora has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games and he is currently sporting a seven-game hitting streak, which matches the longest streak for a Richmond batter this season, also held by Juan Perez, Wes Hodges and Tommy Joseph . Mayora has a team-leading seven multi-hit games on the season. In his first season in the Giants organization, the veteran third baseman is hitting .377 with eight RBIs.

THE REAL DON JUAN: Juan Perez went 5-for-5 with a double, four runs scored, an RBI and two stolen bases in last night's victory. He matched his career-highs in hits (5) and runs scored (4) in a single game. Previously, he had five hits against Harrisburg on 5/15/11 and four runs scored against Visalia on 5/13/10 when he played with Advanced-a San Jose. Prior to last night, Perez had been stuck in a mini-slump, in which he went 2-18 (.111) with six strikeouts in a six-game stretch from April 14 through April 19.

OFFENSIVE OUTBURST: The Flying Squirrels set a season-high in runs scored (15), runs scored in an inning (6) and matched a franchise-record in hits (22) in last night's 15-7 triumph over Altoona. Richmond's previous best offensive output also came also came against the Curve in a 7-3 victory in the Flying Squirrels' home opener on April 12.
