Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, MB. -- Tickets for games three and four of the Western Hockey League Eastern Conference Semi-Final series between the Edmonton Oil Kings and Brandon Wheat Kings, scheduled for next week at Westman Communications Group Place, will go on sale Tuesday morning.
The best of seven series, which will begin this weekend with back to back games Friday and Saturday night at Rexall Place in Edmonton, will hit Brandon on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 10th and 11th at 7 p.m.
The Wheat Kings, who upset the Calgary Hitmen four games to one in the best of seven opening round, are looking forward to playing back on home ice after travelling to Winnipeg for all three of their first round home games at MTS Centre.
Brandon was forced to play there due to the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair occupying the Keystone Centre this past week.
When the series between the two Kings invades Westman Place next week, Brandon will be playing at home for the first time in over three weeks. The Wheat Kings last home game was played on Saturday, March 17th when they brought the curtain down on their 2011-12 regular season.
The Oil Kings, who defeated the defending champion Kootenay Ice four games to nothing in their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series, won three of four games played between the two teams during the regular season.
To order playoff tickets, western Manitoba hockey fans can do one of three things - 1) Visit any Ticketmaster location including the Keystone Centre box office 2) Online at ticketmaster.ca 3) Call the Keystone Centre box office at 726-3555.
Next Tuesday's game will be the first post-season game to be played in Brandon since the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup Championship Final. In addition to this year's games against the Calgary Hitmen, Brandon played all three of its playoff games last spring against Medicine Hat at MTS Centre.
Should this series be extended, game five and seven will be played in Edmonton on Friday and Wednesday, April 13th and 18th, with game six to be played in Brandon on Sunday, April 15th.
