Dakota Wizards Make Post Draft Trades

Bismarck, N.D. - The Dakota Wizards announced today that they have traded veteran forward Renaldo Major and first round draft pick Osiris Eldridge to the Bakersfield Jam for their first round pick Edwin Ubiles from Sienna and third round pick (42 overall) Travis Walton from Michigan State. The Wizards also traded their third round pick (53 overall) Darian "Jake" Anderson to the Iowa Energy for Shy Ely.

Ubiles, 25 recently helped Puerto Rico win gold at the Pan American games in which he averaged 9.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and shot 53.7 percent from the field. The 6-6, 205 pound forward finished his career at Sienna third on the school's all-time scoring charts with 1,939 career points and sixth in scoring average at 14.8 points per game.

Walton, 25 played last season for Raptiopharm Ulm (Germany) where he averaged 2.2 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 28 games. The 6-2, 190 pound guard is Michigan State's career leader in games played with 143 and broke Magic Johnson's career assist record at Michigan State. He also ranks fourth in career steals with 167 and is one of three three-year captains in Michigan State history.

Ely, 24 was a member of last season's NBA Development League Champion Iowa Energy where he averaged 7.2 points, 2.2 points and 1.0 assists in 21 games for the Energy. The 6-4, 205 pound forward averaged 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 31 games during his senior season at Evansville.

Renaldo Major was a member of the Dakota Wizards championship team in 2007 and was also named the NBA Development League Defensive Player of the year. "We are all sad to see Renaldo go as he was a great member of this organization," said Dakota Wizards General Manager Kirk Lacob. "We feel this was a good move for our team this season and in the future."
