Memphis Redbirds News Release
MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis returned home Monday night for their last homestand of the season to beat Albuquerque 3-1 at AutoZone Park.
After the Isotopes scored in the top of the third inning, Adron Chambers hit a leadoff triple in the bottom of the frame and headed home off a sacrifice fly by Shane Robinson to tie it up. The score remained tied until the seventh when Mark Hamilton's base hit to right field plated Robinson to take the lead. Nick Stavinoha's pinch-hit double sent Pete Kozma home for an insurance run in the eighth.
Bryan Augenstein picked up the win for the Redbirds with two perfect innings of relief while fanning four batters in his third victory. Victor Marte nailed down his league leading 29th save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning. Reliever Ramon Troncoso was pegged with the loss for Albuquerque, allowing two unearned runs on three hits over two innings while striking out three.
The 'Birds and 'Topes play tomorrow night with first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. The Redbirds send Maikel Cleto to the mound to face Isotopes right-hander and former Redbird Mike Parisi.
