TONIGHT'S GAME

Round Rock continues the season's final road trip, opening a four-game series against the Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City Royals). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT at Werner Park in Papillion, Neb. Round Rock is 6-4 in its last 10 games after dropping three of five at Albuquerque most recently, stopping a three-game losing streak with a 7-6 win last night. Omaha also is 6-4 in its last 10 games and taking three out of five at New Orleans most recently, winning last night's series finale 11-10. The Express are 40-28 on the road, while the Storm Chasers are 38-29 at home.

EXPRESS-STORM CHASERS SERIES

This is the fourth and final series between the Express and Storm Chasers. Round Rock leads the season series 9-3. The Express swept a four-game series at The Dell Diamond in mid-April, winning each game by three or fewer runs with two last-at-bat wins. The teams met again at The Dell Diamond in mid-June; the Storm Chasers won 4-0 in the opener before the Express won the series' final three games. Omaha won the first two games of a four-game series at Werner Park in mid-July, the third and fourth games in Round Rock's longest losing streak of the season. The Express rebounded to win the series' final two games. LAST NIGHT'S GAMES

Val Majewski was a double shy of the cycle, and Jose Ruiz blasted a three-run homer to lead the Express past Albuquerque 7-6 at Isotopes Park. The game was called after eight innings due to inclement weather. The Express built a 7-6 lead but had to hold off a furious Albuquerque rally, including a Jerry Sands grand slam. Michael Kirkman earned the victory with three innings of scoreless relief; he struck out five.

POSTSEASON BOUND

Round Rock has claimed its second Pacific Coast League American Southern Division Championship since joining the league in 2005. The Express also won the division title in 2006. Round Rock also made four playoff appearances in the Texas League as the Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, winning title Texas League title in 2000.

BUTLER NAMED PCL POSTSEASON ALL-STAR

Joey Butler was named to the PCL Postseason All-Star Team, the league office announced Monday. Butler is the fifth Express member so honored since Round Rock joined the PCL in 2005, joining Mike Coolbaugh (2005), Danny Klassen (2005), Jason Hirsch (2006) and Bud Norris (2009). Former Express member and current Reno shortstop Cody Ransom also earned PCL postseason honors.

ROUND ROCK OWNS PCL's BEST RECORD

The Express (81-55, .596) share the PCL's best record with Sacramento (81-55, .596). Round Rock is four-and-a-half games ahead of Omaha (76-59, .563) in the overall American Conference standings.

EXPRESS EYE BEST ‚¬Ë†TRIPLE-A RECORD

Round Rock is two-and-a-half games behind the Columbus Clippers (84-53) of the International League for the best overall record in Triple-A Baseball. The PCL Champion and the IL Champion will meet Sept. 20 in the Triple-A All-Star Game at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque, N.M.

DIVISION STANDINGS UPDATE

Round Rock (81-55, .596) holds a 13-game lead over Albuquerque (68-68, .500) in the American Southern Division standings. Since Round Rock joined the PCL in 2005, only one other American Southern team has won more than 80 games - the 2006 Express won 85. That team and Albuquerque's 2009 squad both had 11-game leads at the regular season's end, the largest final division leads in that time. Round Rock has at least shared the division lead following 114 of 136 games this season and has led the division outright since June 25. New Orleans (66-70, .485) trails Round Rock by 15 games, while Oklahoma City (64-72, .467) has won four straight and sits 17 games back.

ROUND ROCK TRIPLE-A WINS RECORD WITHIN REACH

The Express already have surpassed win totals from five of the previous six seasons as a Triple-A franchise (since 2005). With 81 wins entering tonight's game, Round Rock needs to win four of its final eight games to match the 2006 squad's franchise record of 85 wins at the Triple-A level. As a member of the Double-A Texas League, Round Rock won 83 games in 2000, 86 games in 2001, 75 games in 2002 and 86 games in 2004.

TEAM RECORDS WATCH

Round Rock already has established franchise records (Triple-A era) for runs (797), hits (1402), RBI (766), total bases (2267), walks (482) and sacrifice flies (50). The Express also are on pace to break records in doubles (need nine) and home runs (need three). Round Rock pitchers also have established a franchise record with 991 strikeouts.

INDIVIDUAL RECORDS WATCH

Chad Tracy has established a franchise record with 102 RBI, eclipsing Mike Coolbaugh's 2005 mark (101). ‚¬Â¦ Esteban German needs seven hits to match Mark Saccomanno's 2008 record (157). He also needs seven runs to match Brooks Conrad's 2006 record (100). German has established an Express single-season record with 71 walks. ‚¬Â¦ German has 44 stolen bases, eclipsing Josh Anderson' 2007 previous franchise record (40). German and Anderson are the only Express players to steal at least 30 bases in a season. ‚¬Â¦ Matt Kata has established an Express record with 11 sacrifice flies. ‚¬Â¦ Kata has been hit by a pitch 14 times, breaking his own record 11 from last season. Tracy also has been hit 12 times this season.
