Iowa Cubs News Release

Iowa Cubs first baseman Bryan LaHair has been named to the 2011 All-Pacific Coast League team, announced today by the league office.

The 12-member team represents the best the PCL has to offer and is voted on by a combination of league managers and media members.

The award marks LaHair's second post-season honor; his first since being named a California League Post-Season All-Star in 2005 as a member of the Inland Empire 66ers.

LaHair, in his ninth season of professional baseball, has put up impressive numbers this season, leading the PCL, as well as Minor League Baseball, in numerous categories and setting career-high marks.

Among all of minor league baseball, LaHair ranks first with 36 home runs and is one shy of tying the Iowa franchise record for homers in a season set by Joe Hicks in 1984.

In the PCL, he leads in RBI (105), extra-base hits (73) and total bases (292). LaHair ranks third in the league in slugging (.655), fourth in doubles (37), fifth in runs scored (89) and eighth in batting (.330).

During this season, he has set personal bests in runs scored, home runs and is on pace to set a new career-best in batting average.

Other recent Iowa Cub players named to the PCL Post-Season All-Star list include Darwin Barney and Brad Snyder (2010), Eric Patterson and Geovany Soto (2007), Rich Hill (2006) and Jermaine Van Buren (2005).
