
YSC/Philadelphia Union Juniors to Host First Annual "Passback Day"

Chester, Pa. (June 7, 2011) -Philadelphia Union and YSC Sports, the club's official youth development partner, will host the first annual YSC/Philadelphia Union Juniors "Passback Day" on Sunday, June 12 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. EST at YSC Sports in Wayne, Pa. The inaugural event will feature members of the Union Juniors, training members of the Will Trippley Youth Development Foundation (WTYDF) and their families.
The event, free of cost, has been designed for kids by kids to provide participants a memorable day of fun activities, featuring soccer games and skills clinic, balloon art, a barbecue, live DJ, and the chance to meet Philadelphia Union professional soccer players.
WTYDF is a non-profit organization that utilizes soccer, education, and non-violence to create opportunity for at-risk youth in Chester, PA. WTYDF hosts year-round soccer programs in Chester and aims to educate youth in academics and non-violence. The program serves more than 300 children between the ages of 5-14 and partners with the Chester Department of Recreation, Chester Boys and Girls Clubs, and the Chambers Foundation to form Chester City United, an organization dedicated only to soccer.
Free transportation will be provided for the first 150 participants from Smedley Allied Career Health High School, with the bus departing at 10:00 a.m.
