Erie BayHawks Give Mad Ants First Loss of the Season

Fort Wayne, IN - The Erie BayHawks defeated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 109-102, giving the Mad Ants their first loss of the season. Six BayHawks finished in double figures.

The first quarter of play saw 11 lead changes and 3 ties as the two teams battled for control of the game. The BayHawks outscored the Mad Ants 31-25 in the second, shooting 4 of 5 from three point land as they lead 54-49 going into the second half.

The BayHawks extended the lead to as many as 13 points early in the fourth period. The Mad Ants made a late run and cut the lead to just 3 points with one minute left in regulation, but the BayHawks offense proved to be too much for the home team.

The Mad Ants were led Rod Wilmont who finished with 23 points, Marvin Phillips finished with 18 points and 8 rebounds, and Darnell Lazare added 13.

Dawan Robinson scored 16 points for the BayHawks in just 14 minutes of play. Ivan Johnson finished with 16 points while Tasheed Carr and Nate Linhart contributed 14 a piece.

These two teams will meet up again on Sunday night in Fort Wayne, IN.
