
Andy Pettitte to Rehab in Trenton

(TRENTON, NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that LHP Andy Pettitte is scheduled to make a rehab appearance on Thursday, September 9 at 7:05 PM at Waterfront Park as the Thunder face the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays) in Game 2 of the Eastern League Divisional Playoffs.
Pettitte, 38, has been on the New York Yankees disabled list since July 18 with a groin injury. He is 11-2 with a 2.88 ERA in 18 starts (115 2.3 IP).
Selected in the 22nd round of the 1990 draft, Pettitte is 240-137 (.637) with a 3.87 ERA in 16 seasons with the Yankees and Houston Astros. He is 18-9 with a 3.90 ERA in 40 postseason games, including 7-1 in the American League Championship Series. He is a member of what is known in New York as "The Core Four" - a moniker given to Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada, who have been with the Yankees for each of the team's five World Series Championships since 1996.
