Seven Former Iowa Energy Players Featured on 2010 AirTran Airways Pro Summer League Rosters in Orlan

DES MOINES, July 6, 2010 -Seven current and former Iowa Energy players highlight the rosters of the eight teams playing in the 2010 AirTran Airways Pro Summer League, which tipped off in Orlando Monday afternoon. The event features 20 games played over five days at the RDV Sportsplex in Orlando.

Energy stars Curtis Stinson (Orlando Magic) and Othyus Jeffers (Utah Jazz) are joined by Connor Atchley (New Jersey Nets) and Darian Townes (Utah Jazz), as members of the 2009-2010 Energy team participating in the event. Stinson finished with 4 points and 2 assists off the bench for Orlando while Jeffers had 10 points and 2 rebounds in a start for the Jazz in their opening summer league games.

Former Energy players Darryl Watkins (Indiana Pacers), Cedric Simmons (Philadelphia 76ers) and Demetris Nichols (Utah Jazz) are also playing in the league.

In total, 47 players with NBA D-League experience are taking part in the league, which is designed to provide free agents and young NBA players a chance to develop their skills in front of NBA front office personnel.

Evan Turner, the #2 overall pick in June's NBA Draft, is one of several big names participating in the five day league. You can follow the summer league games at www.nba.com/magic.
