Bighorns Affiliated with Kings, Warriors in 2010-11 Season

July 6, 2010 - NBA G League (G League)
Reno Bighorns News Release

RENO, Nev.- The Reno Bighorns will play the 2010-11 season as the NBA D-League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors, the National Basketball Association announced today.

The Bighorns, coming off their first playoff appearance in franchise history, will retain the Sacramento Kings for the third-straight season. The lone player in Bighorns franchise history to be sent to Reno on assignment was from the Kings, as guard Donte Greene played five games for the 'Horns in the 2008-09 season.

The Kings finished last season at 25-57, in fifth place in the Western Conference's Pacific Division. The Kings selected University of Kentucky big man Demarcus Cousins with the fifth-overall selection in the 2010 NBA Draft. Sacramento would select Marshall center Hassan Whiteside in the second round of the draft.

Reno's new parent club for the upcoming season is the Golden State Warriors, who spent last season as the parent club for the Bakersfield Jam.

Golden State finished the 2009-10 season at 26-56 in the Western Conference's Pacific Division. The Warriors selected Baylor power forward Ekpe Udoh with the sixth-overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.

The Warriors roster was stacked with players featuring NBA D-League experience last season. Golden State made five Gatorade Call-Ups in 2009-10, a record total for an NBA team.

Season-ticket packages for the 2010-11 Bighorns campaign are on-sale now. Call (775) 284-2622 or visit www.RenoBighorns.com for more information.
