Skyforce Remains Affiliated with Timberwolves, Heat for 2010-11 Season

Sioux Falls, S.D. (July 7, 2010) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that they will continue to serve as the NBA Development League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami HEAT for the 2010-11 season. The affiliation system allows Minnesota and Miami to assign players in their first or second season to Sioux Falls.

Sioux Falls has been affiliated with Minnesota in each of their four seasons in the NBA D-League. Minnesota has assigned four players since the assignment system was created prior to the 2005-06 season. Dwayne Jones (26 games) and Bracey Wright (30 games) were assigned to the Florida Flame in 2005-06. Chris Richard (10.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, six games) was the first Wolves player assigned to Sioux Falls in 2007-08 while Nathan Jawai (8.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg, four games) was assigned this past season.

Sioux Falls will also continue their affiliation with Miami for a second straight season. Miami has assigned four players since the assignment system was instituted. Earl Barron (six games) and Dorell Wright (six games) were assigned to the Florida Flame in 2005-06 while Joel Anthony (three games) and Daequan Cook (three games) were assigned to the Iowa Energy in 2007-08.
