Stamps Sign Cody Pickett

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that quarterback Cody Pickett has signed a contract with the club. As per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Pickett joins the Stamps as a free agent after two seasons with the Toronto Argonauts. He dressed for all 18 games with the Argos in 2009 and made seven starts. He completed 145 of 235 passes for 1,553 yards and three touchdowns. The University of Washington product dressed for 18 games in 2008 with Toronto and completed 63 of 104 passes for 610 yards and one touchdown.

Pickett was originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 2004 National Football League draft. He also spent time with the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders.

Hufnagel also announced that import defensive lineman Derrick Gray, import defensive back Ronnie Amadi and non-import receiver Matt Lambros have been released.
