Luna Leads Zephyrs to Win

May 25, 2010 - Pacific Coast League (PCL) New Orleans Zephyrs

Game Keys - Hector Luna ripped a three run home run to lead the Zephyrs to a 7-3 win on a cold night in Portland. New Orleans dropped the first four games of the trip and now has rallied to win two in a row. Z's outfielder Lorenzo Scott also drilled a home run as the Zephyrs out hit the Beavers 9-3. The Zephyrs pitching staff has limited the Beavers to 7 hits in the first two games of the series. Jorge Sosa earned the win on Tuesday and Jay Buente and James Houser each worked two scoreless innings of relief. Eric Munson led the Beavers with a pair of home runs and drove in three for Portland. Matt Buschmann took the loss for Portland. Z's lead the series 2-0.

Game Notes- The start of the game was delayed 29 minutes due to rain. 3rd rain delay on the trip and 7th of the season. Mike Lamb added another pinch hit, he is 2-2 coming off the bench. The Z's as a team are 9x38 as pinch hitters.

Coming Up: The Zephyrs and Portland meet in the third game of the set on Wednesday afternoon at 1. Z's will start RH Rick Vandenhurk (3-2, 4.06) vs. RH Will Inman (2-2, 3.53) RADIO: 106.1 FM WMTI
