Tides rally to beat Pawtucket

The PawSox lost their third consecutive game on Friday night, falling in Norfolk, 3-2. After beating the Tides on Tuesday, Norfolk ended up taking the series. Pawtucket got off to a fast start against lefty Chris George. The ex-PawSox hurler allowed two runs in the first. Aaron Bates had an rbi triple and Dusty Brown followed with a run-scoring double. After a second inning triple by Ryan Khoury, the PawSox managed just 2 more hits. Tug Hulett had a double and a single.

Adam Mills was solid in his start, allowing 2 runs in 5 and a third innings. Dustin Richardson tossed a pair of scoreless frames. Chad Paronto was a tough luck loser, falling to 1-2. In the bottom of the ninth with the score 2-2, Michel Hernandez reached on an infield hit. Paco Figueroa came on as a pinch runner. .After Joey Gathright popped out, Jeff Salazar singled to left. Aaron Bates made a valiant effort, but couldn't get to it. The next hitter, Robert Andino singled bringing in the game winner.

The PawSox (19-23) head to Durham for a four game series that begins on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Boof Bonser (0-1, 7.64) faces Richard De Los Santos (2-2, 4.76).
